Qualifications

Qualifications for Child Protection Worker Positions:

Entry-level Child Protection Workers must have a BSW or MSW from an accredited School of Social Work. Other requirements include a valid Ontario Driver's License, access to a reliable vehicle with appropriate vehicle insurance and a police clearance certificate with vulnerable citizen's component.

We may consider educational equivalency if there is relevant work experience with another Children's Aid Society or direct child welfare experience.

Child Protection Workers also participate in a government mandated New Worker Training program regulated by the Ministry of Children & Youth Services. New Workers undergo a probationary period and participate in regular performance reviews.
