How to Apply

How To Apply:

STEP 1: 

Email, phone, or stop in to the agency and speak to a resource worker so that we can answer any questions you may have about foser for permanency, fostering adolescents, adoption. A worker can also come out to your home and meet with your whole family as every member may have different questions.

STEP 2:

If after having your questions answered you feel as though you are ready to proceed, fill out an online application, or we can mail you an application.

 

STEP 3:

After your application has been received, a worker will contact you to follow up and schedule a time to come out to your home and meet you and your family.

 

STEP 4:

If all parties are in agreement to proceed then you will be invited to attend our Parent Resources for Information, Development and Education (P.R.I.D.E) training. The P.R.ID.E. training consists of 9 sessions with each session lasting 3 hours per session, and is typically offered in spring, fall and winter. Speak to the resource worker about which session is best for you.

STEP 5:

During the training you will also be involved in a Mutual Family Assessment, also known as the Structured Analysis Family Evaluation, the S.A.F.E ‘homestudy'. A worker from this agency will get to know you and your family and conduct interviews in your home. As part of the S.A.F.E. homestudy you will also complete paperwork such as police checks, child welfare checks, medicals, references, and questionnaires. This paperwork will have been provided to you at your initial homevisit.
