Community Law School (Sarnia-Lambton) Inc. (CLS) is a non-profit, charitable organization that provides public legal education and training in social welfare laws and lay advocacy to community groups, social welfare agencies, grassroots organizations, and marginalized persons in Lambton County. Through partnerships with Pro Bono Students Canada and Community Legal Services at the Faculty of Law, University of Western Ontario, CLS is also able to provide public legal education outreach to similar groups in the London-Middlesex area.

In conjunction with Lambton College, CLS offers the Certificate in Community Advocacy Program, which trains community advocates (such as social service agency workers, shelter workers, etc.) in the law, policies, and procedures that govern social assistance programs such as Ontario Works, ODSP, and CPP. Other topics of interest to low-income, abused, and marginalized communities, such as the Residential Tenancies Act, Human Rights Laws, and Consumer Protection Laws, are also covered in Certificate Program courses.

The CLS Bulletin Board, reached through its website, contains continually-updated information on social welfare topics, and offers an opportunity for advocates and social service workers to network and share experiences, information, ideas, and questions.

More information about CLS' programs may be obtained from the CLS website, or by emailing CLS.
