The Adoption Council of Ontario (ACO) is a non-profit, charitable organization that educates, supports, and advocates in all aspects of adoption. ACO runs the Adoption Resource Centre, which is based in Toronto and is open to birth families, adoptees, adoptive parents and adoption professionals as well as the general public. ACO offers an adoption helpline, a resource library, "Getting Started in Adoption" seminars, a semi-annual conference, and a buddy system for those who wish to be linked with someone who has already experienced the adoption journey. As well, the ACO runs the AdoptOntario program which is a website and recruitment program for waiting families. Visit www.adoptontario.ca, the "hub" of adoption information for Ontario residents.
