The Public Health Agency of Canada seeks to protect the health and safety of all Canadians. Its activities focus on preventing chronic diseases like cancer and heart disease, preventing injuries and responding to public health emergencies and infectious disease outbreaks.
The Canadian Health Network (CHN) , a national, bilingual health promotion program funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada, is found on the internet at www.canadian-health-network.ca. The CHN's goal is to help Canadians find the information they are looking for on how to stay healthy and prevent disease. This network of health information providers includes the Public Health Agency of Canada, Health Canada and national and provincial/territorial non-profit organizations as well as universities, hospitals, libraries and community organizations.
