The Business Enterprise Centre of Sarnia-Lambton is a free information and advisory service for anyone interested in starting his/her own business and for existing small business operators. Offering a comprehensive walk-in resource library of business literature and advisory materials, the Business Enterprise Centre is staffed by an experienced Business Consultant to assist with preparation of business plans as well as provide advice and direction on locating additional information/resources to support business development/growth. Business Plan Competition


This is an opportunity for secondary school students to display their skills and ideas for a new business venture. Once entered into the competition, business plans are judged by volunteer judges from the Sarnia-Lambton community. The first place winner advances to the Regional and Provincial levels of competition. This program promotes entrepreneurship and business planning skills among youth. 

Summer Company
 

Youth between the ages of 15 and 29 who are attending school full time and returning to school in the fall can apply to receive up to $3000 ($1500 up front for start-up costs, and up to $1500 after successful completion of the program) to operate a new business. Applications are accepted starting in November. 

Canadian Youth Business Foundation
 

CYBF is a national charity providing two years of start-up mentoring and up to $15,000 in unsecured low interest financing for young Canadians (18-34 years old) to create their own successful business. For more information call (519) 332-1820.
