339 - COMMUNITY HEALTH EDUCATORS COMMITTEE SARNIA-LAMBTON

The Community Health Educators Committee of Sarnia Lambton, or CHEC, is a group of health professionals who have expertise, experience and interest in presenting educational programs of a general nature for the health care community. CHEC members represent Bluewater Health, Long Term Care and Community Agencies which provide a very broad variety of health and allied services to the entire County of Lambton and beyond.

The major project of the committee is to research, plan and facilitate the annual Carruthers Day Seminar, which is partially supported by the Carruthers Foundation of Sarnia. Programs cover current issues related to self-development and personal growth, and appeal to a very diverse audience of health care, allied and related services personnel. CHEC has a long record of attracting internationally known and highly respected, top quality speakers to present at this event; therefore, participants benefit greatly through accessibility to high profile speakers without the cost and inconvenience of travel.

CHEC has, at times, presented seminars of a more specific nature for smaller local groups.

CHEC is a non-profit group and does not financially support other projects. We provide support to others through help with organizing and facilitating educational programs.
