Eligibility:

Individuals with any brain injury, from a a blow to the head to traumatic brain injury, stroke, tumour, aneurysm, foreign object (bullet), anoxia (lack of oxygen - drowning or illness), cardiac arrest (lack of blood supply to the brain), severe shaking of an infant, drugs.

   
Referrals: Self-referral or through doctor
   
Fees: No fees for service.  Membership fee is $25.00 per  year for an individual

The Brain Injury Association Sarnia-Lambton is a non-profit, charitable organization supporting persons with a brain injury and their families. 

The Association is dedicated to:

  • preventing traumatic brain injury
  • improving the quality of life for survivors of brain injury
  • supporting family and friends of persons with brain injury
  • educating the public on the prevention, causes, effects, and rehabilitation of brain injury  
  • providing social/moral support to persons with brain injury, their family and friends advocating for effective and appropriate resources and public policy

The Association provides personal consultation, support group meetings for survivors of a traumatic brain injury and for friends and family of a traumatic brain injured survivor, complete library of literature and video material and medical and legal references.
