The Boys and Girls Club is committed to providing prevention programs for youth that support their development as individuals, enhance their socialization skills, promote healthy peer relationships and help them build positive self-images. The organization is also committed to ensuring equal access to their facilities, programs and other opportunities regardless of a child's social, economic or personal development levels.
After School Program
Monday to Friday: 3:00 - 5:30 p.m. Cost $25.00 per week
The After School Program which runs from September to June, provides constructive, affordable after school care for elementary school children. This program is designed to lower the drop-out rate of students by providing opportunities for students to complete homework, develop skills, and engage in learning activities through peer support and mentoring. There is homework assistance, computer labs, learning centered activities and book exchange programs to encourage personal interest and development in the students. There is also access to Boys and Girls Clubs of Ontario online tutoring services.
Drop-In Centre Program
Monday to Thursday: 3:00 - 9:00 p.m. Friday 3:00 - 5:30 p.m.
Junior, Pre-teen and Teen programs. Yearly membership fee.
The Drop-In Centre is intended to provide care for the emotional, social and recreational needs of youth between 5 and 18 years of age. Many of the clientele attracted by the program exhibit social and/or behavioural difficulties. Therefore, this prevention program provides recreation in a safe and non-judgmental atmosphere allowing young people to learn teamwork and social skills.
We also offer volunteer/co-op placements for teens that have shown good teamwork and social skills.
Activities that are offered at the Club are: billiards, foosball, air hockey, book exchange, Nintendo, crafts, computer games, tournaments, board games, bingo, movie night, internet, darts for teens, chess club, billiard lessons, and cool cooking program.
Summer Day Camp Program
Monday to Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Ages 5 to 12
The children will experience days full of fun with supervised tours, trips, crafts, outdoor/indoor activities, special guest speakers and much more.
Cost: $60.00 per week, per child and includes all day trips.
Dances
Ages 8 to 13
Dances are usually held the second and last Friday of the month from September to June from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. (indoor lines in inclement weather).
Cost: $5.00
Well supervised by: The Boys and Girls Club staff; professional D.J.; door prizes.
